Would that be different enough to make an American version (e.g. if the show was truly Being Adam from the start or even Being Ethan)? Or do you think some of the charm of the show comes from having a female protagonist?

I think it would still be good..but a good part of the charm comes from this fact and that they found the perfect Erica.
